HaYDEN LAkE CAbIN
PRIVATE RESIDENCE | HAYDEN LAKE, ID
Condon Cabin, located just east of Windy Point on Lake Hayden, sits on a compact site with expansive views of the lake and Mount Spokane.
The owner-provided program and CCR restrictions significantly limited the allowable massing, leading to a series of variances that helped unlock the site’s full potential while remaining sensitive to its context.
Materiality and a Pacific Northwest aesthetic were central to the design, paired with modern architectural principles.
Dark wood siding, light cedar soffits, and board-formed concrete create a contemporary interpretation of a traditional Northwest cabin.
The approach is intentionally restrained, with smaller punched openings that offer glimpses of the interior.
Upon entry, the space opens dramatically to large glazed openings oriented toward the deck and sweeping lake views beyond.
